Temporary Position to Permanent On-Call
The Primary Therapist is responsible for the supervised provision of clinical treatment services to a designated patient population; direct services to include a comprehensive social assessment, collaborative development of a treatment plan, provision of short term, solution focused individual, group and family psychotherapy and development of a discharge plan for continuity of care. The Primary Therapist works closely with a multidisciplinary team (including patient, family and community providers) in evaluating, understanding and negotiating the roles of social, cultural, economic and emotional factors which support the patient’s illness, treatment and recovery. The Primary Therapist works under the operational supervision of the Administrative Director/designee and the clinical supervision of the Director of Social Services or designee. Incorporates the organization’s Mission, Values, and Service Standard Behavior Guidelines in the fulfillment of all duties and responsibilities 8:00-16:30 Monday-Friday

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology or a Human Services related field

1 year post-MSW/MA clinical experience working in a behavioral health setting.

Must hold a current NJ license or certificate in a human services specialty (LSW, LPC, CADC, etc.)

Well developed conceptual knowledge, critical thinking and direct practice skills specific to behavioral health: demonstrated ability to collect, organize and interpret data in assessing the client system in interaction with the environment. Skill in counseling to facilitate life changes. Outstanding collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently in an interdisciplinary setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal/ behavioral skills. Ability to function under stressful situations which are in the best interests of the patient and the institution.
